We were tasked with introducing Understatement to the Netherlands, a brand reshaping women’s underwear since 2017 with a focus on empowering, comfortable lingerie made sustainably. Our goal was to make a bold entry into the Dutch market with the "soft and strong" campaign, perfectly tailored to resonate with the local audience and reflect the brand’s values.
To bring the campaign to life, we collaborated with Yara Michels, a well-known figure for her authentic storytelling and modern approach to feminism and body positivity. Her influence helped strengthen the empowering message of the campaign. The photoshoot was entirely managed by an all-female team, emphasizing empowerment, confidence, and comfort in a fun, honest, and high-quality way. Instead of retouching imperfections, we celebrated the natural beauty of Dutch women in all their shapes and forms, ensuring the campaign resonated with every woman.
The photoshoot featuring Yara was widely shared on platforms like Linda.nl, and the campaign was displayed throughout Amsterdam on large posters, capturing the attention of locals and passers-by. These empowering, skin-honoring close-ups invited the public to explore the brand online and warmed up the Dutch market ahead of a two-day pop-up event in the Nine Streets. Hosted at The Lingerist, the pop-up allowed women to experience the brand firsthand, meet the founders, and enjoy the products alongside Swedish delicacies, creating a meaningful and immersive brand experience.
