Fashion, fatherhood, lifestyle and writing are abundant in definition: leave it to Pepijn Lanen, also known as Faberyayo, to astound us with his artful expressions of these elements time after time. This creative has a unique outlook on all that surrounds him, and finds cleverly far-out yet contemporary ways to give meaning and life to his artistry. Not only is his work original as much as he is the original: an archetype of hip-hop music in The Netherlands, the blueprint of its fashion.
Pepijn first gained recognition as part of hip-hop group and cultural artefact De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. During fatherhood, as Pepijn is also a loving father of his soon to be family of six with Coco, he evolved his lyrical savviness through the writing of stories and columns and not much later his own works as an author. His tone of voice is ironic, eccentric and clear-cut, underlining his words with a playful tinge.
One of his more recent books, Vad3r, portrays his intimate devotion to fatherhood and consequently inspired a podcast show in which Pepijn and other reputable fathers interpret all that fatherhood entails to them. Pepijn is unique, authentic and creative through and through. An imaginary able to give soul to abstract words and concepts, an icon able to give brands an elevated level of cool that is uniquely and distinctly his own.
